Russian satellite operator RSCC completed tests on a new telecommunications satellite Express AM6 at position 51 ° E. From 22 April 2015 the satellite is parked at the target position 53 ° E, which gradually take over services for satellite Express AM22.
Express AM6 will be from a position of 53 ° E to provide coverage of Russia, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia. RSCC said.
Satellite Express AM6 manufactured with JSC Information Satellite System Academician MF Reshetnev and MDA Corporation (Canada) based platform Expres 2000. Cosmic apparatus is equipped with 72 transponders in C, Ku, Ka and L band and total band 2700 MHz. Life expectancy is 15 years.
Express AM6 is part of the Federal Space Program of the Russian Federation for the years 2009 to 2015. The satellite is designed for high-speed data transmission and broadband Internet access, multimedia services, telephony and mobile services in the European part of Russia, the Urals and Western Siberia, as well as for international projects Russian and foreign clients in Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
Satellite operator RSCC currently operates 11 satellites, including 7 satellites Express AM series and two satellites Express AT.
